Hedwigia ciliata
Hedwigia ciliata moss grows in both sun and shade locations especially along the top edges of walls and ledges as well as asphalt roofs and pavements. Often found in urban areas, it is named after Johannes Hedwig who created the first standard reference for mosses in Germany (1730-1977). Since it grows naturally on roofs, it makes an excellent choice for green roof projects.
